Supporting and Affirming Gender Expansive and Transgender (GET) School-Age Youth

Program Description:

This training will focus on gaining a foundation in understanding transgender and gender expansive (GET) students and gaining practical knowledge about the best practices for supporting GET
school-age youth.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Gain foundational information and knowledge about gender, transgender, gender expansive
    and cisgender identities in youth;
  2. Better understand the day-to-day experiences of GET school-age youth;
  3. Learn the best practices for schools creating and maintaining a welcoming environment
    for GET students
  4. Identify action strategies to assist in creating safe and supportive school environment
    for GET school-age youth.

FEE: Members – Free ($55 yearly membership payable to DCASP), Guests – $20 payable at meeting. For Act 48 credits please register on WebReg/My Learning Plan. The fee for Act 48 credits is $15, which can only be paid online through WebReg/My Learning Plan.

NOTE:  The Delaware County Association of School Psychologists is approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Psychology to offer continuing education for psychologists. The Delaware County Association of School Psychologists maintains responsibility for the program(s). Certificates for three contact hours will be available.
