Learning Objectives
- Participants will gain knowledge of how school psychologists can provide information on students’ disabilities and their recommended accommodations, contributing to the transition planning process in a meaningful way.
- Participants will gain knowledge of the essential components of transition planning, including the participation of all stakeholders, required documentation, and postsecondary outcomes/barriers.
- Participants will be provided with relevant, practical information on how to enhance family-school collaboration in order to achieve favorable postsecondary outcomes for students with disabilities.
- Participants will gain knowledge of the current training, preparation, & participation of school psychologists in the areas of vocational assessment, transition planning, & family-school collaboration
- Participants will be introduced to various standardized assessments that may be utilized as part of a transition/vocational-oriented psychoeducational evaluation
